My favorite question for the past couple of weeks is when people ask, "So what's Watson's schedule?" Schedule?!? We pretty much just go with the whatever he wants to do. He's up at 6 some mornings and 10 others. He goes to bed anywhere between 7 and 11. We don't really care as long as we can curtail the screaming to less than an hour each night. That is my new definition of success.
So, looking back on my pictures, here is what we do all day:
Lay on the changing table after having his diaper changed and try to get the biggest smiles possible. This involves my doing things I never thought I would: singing, funny faces, baby talk, cooing, and my most favorite, zerberts on his tummy. This last one gave me my first laugh on June 19. Oh yes, and kisses. Lot of kisses. On cheeks, legs, tummy, hands, feet, basically any exposed skin gets covered.
Attempt to transition sleeping from car seat to sleeping in crib. These naps usually last about 5-10 minutes.
Then he goes to the car seat. Sometimes he doesn't go back to sleep. Can you guess if he did here?
Eat our hands. This is a new activity that is sometimes brought to a premature end when the fingers go in so far as to gag. That is no fun.
Sit in the swing.
Watch the mobile. Especially the bear.
Seriously, that bear is hilarious.
Discover feet. On this day (June 18), he realized he could grab his feet. Now anytime he's on his back or sitting he has his left foot in his left hand. Today he discovered his right foot and squealed with exhilaration. Imagine if you suddenly discovered that there were two of your best friend.
Hang out with Mary next door.
Play with kick toy that Cami brought over. He will lay there for 30-45 minutes at a time. Cami is a godsend for bringing over that toy.
Hold foot AND play with kick toy. That's the ultimate in baby fun.
Our latest game: tummy time. The last time we tried this he was two days old. Rookie mistake. Babies who are still reeling from being ousted out of a tight, warm, wet environment to a cold, dry, loud one do not appreciate being placed alone on their stomachs on a blanket. Trust me.
Work on neck muscles. Unfortunately, this sometimes ends up with a face plant into the blanket.
Meet new people. This is Juli, a friend from medical school.
These are pictures taken before our trip that I meant to post. But packing for ten days with a baby took much longer than I expected, so here they are now.
Sink bathing is not only for babies. Maggie fits too!
Watson at two months.
The only picture I took on our trip. (Jared is our family photographer).
While Maggie follows Watson around and runs in his room when he cries, Landry uses him as tool to get closer to us.

Now that Jill has started work, I fear we will never see you again, dear Watson. I am glad that we got such wonderful posts beforehand. Watson rules.
A schedule will naturally evolve and life does become easier. Colt and Ellie are finally sleeping 2 hours at nap time and about 11 hours at night. For the first 5 months or so, they would only nap in their swings. It looks like we had the same type of swing. They rock! (literally) Congrats on the trip and graduating. Proud of you!
